Visakhapatnam: Waltair Railway Division is likely to introduce
glass-domed coaches on the train from the port city to Araku for the
benefit of tourists within this year, said divisional railway manager

Addressing the media in the city on Wednesday, Waltair Divisional Manager Mukherjee said talks are on with the IRCTC for providing services and ICF (Integral Coach Factory) on the manufacture of glass-domed coaches.
Referring to revenue collection, she said the earnings of the division have crossed Rs 7,034.58 crore during the 2015-16 fiscal, adding that the division plans to achieve a freight loading target of 58 million tonnes in 2016-17 as against 55.66 million tonnes in 2015-16.
Apart from these, Mukherjee said proposals have already been sent to the East Coast Railway authorities for additional trains to meet the rush during the Krishna Pushkaralu slated to be held in August.
