District Collect Babu A. on Saturday called upon the mobile network providers to gear up for Krishna Pushkarams.

‘Make tech work’

In a meeting with representatives of mobile network providers, IIIT Nuzvid, Municipal Commissioner G. Veerapandian, sub-collector G. Srijana, DDO Anantha Krishna and others, Mr. Babu said that technology must be adopted to make sure that pilgrims can view route maps of pushkar ghats from their homes and fix a particular route.

He further asked them to ensure information relating to transport services, food, drinking water, medical aid and others at each ghats is gathered.

“Based on the mobile phones and rush of pilgrims at all the ghats, assessment must be done so that first hand information of availability of ghats is collected,” the Collector said.

‘Increase capacity’

He asked the providers to increase their handling capacity to avoid signal dropping during the Pushakarams. Special call centres will be set up to monitor 24-hour activity.
