Vijayawada, Aug 7 (INN): The replica temple of
Lord Venkateswara constructed by TTD in PWD grounds of Vijayawada was
inaugurated on a grand religious note on Sunday amidst the chanting of
Vedic hymns by temple priests.
The Maha Samprokshana ceremony was performed by a team of priests by performing homam and Nivedana. The rituals took place from 7:30 to 9 am. Later the presiding deity was opened for the general public for the darshan as per Vaikhanasa Agama norms.
As soon as the temple opened for public darshan, there was a huge surge of devotees surge at the temple.
TTD EO Dr. D Sambasiva Rao along with Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju took part in this fete. Sambasiva Rao said, 'As the temple opened up five days prior to the Krishna Pushkarams, the local devotees can have a pleasant darshan".
TTD has also made elaborate arrangements to distribute free food to over one lakh devotees every day during the ensuring Krishna Pushkaralu. To see these arrangements, we have deputed 650 employees and 1000 Srivari Sevakulu to take care of the pilgrims', the EO added.
