Kakinada: The APSRTC East Godavari unit gearing up to run 78
special services in addition to 50 regular services to cater the needs
of pilgrims of Krishna Pushkaralu. The additional services will be
operated from August 12 to August 24.
The services will be operated round-the-clock from Amalapuram,
Kakinada, Gokavaram, Rajamahendravaram, Tuni, Yeleswaram, Ravulapalem,
Razole and Ramachandrapuram depots up to the terminal at the NTR Health
University, Vijayawada, which is designated for the buses coming from
East Godavari. From this alighting point, free services will be provided
by APSRTC, Vijayawada city unit, to various pushkar ghats.
In addition, APSRTC Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam
district units will operate 100 services each and these services will
reach Y V Rao terminal in Vijayawada. From there also, local free
services will be operated to various pushkar ghats.
East Godavari RTC regional manager Chinta Ravi Kumar said that
the corporation MD Nanduri Sambasiva Rao decided to collect regular
fares only for Krishna Pusahkaralu and no additional charges will be
collected for special services.
Besides this, the extension of free bus service to various pushkar
ghats in Vijaywada also taken up as per the directives of the MD, the
Regional Manager clarified. Depending on the rush of pilgrims,
additional services would be operated, he said.
