Eighteen special armed constables from Koraput in Odisha escaped with minor injuries when the bus in which they were travelling overturned at a curve on a hill top road near Sunkhi on the Andhra-Odisha border late on Sunday.

According to Salur Circle Inspector Ramakrishna, the accident occurred when 33 constables, deployed for bandobust for Krishna Pushkaralu, were on their way to Vijayawada.

The injured personnel were being treated at the Sunkhi PHC and a few of them at the Salur Government Hospital.
