Only one-third of
works completed with deadline nearing
Even as the countdown for Krishna pushkarams has begun, the works are
still going on at a snail’s pace. The departments are falling short of
the targets. The State government has set a target to complete 75 per
cent of the works by July 1 to 15.
But, as on today, the officials could achieve only 32 per cent. To some extent, it is due to non-release of funds. The river jamboree commences on August 12. As many as 1,111 works were kick-started by departments such as municipal bodies, Roads and Buildings (R&B), Irrigation, Transco, Endowments and Rural Water Supply (RWS) departments.
